What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a titanium screw that’s placed directly into your jawbone, replacing your missing tooth root. After it’s fitted, the bone surrounding your implant will gradually integrate over 8-12 weeks, holding the implant firmly in place.

A false tooth/teeth (a crown or bridge) which matches the colour and shape of your natural existing teeth is then fitted to the top of the implant, leaving you with a fixed replacement.
Dental implants are a long-lasting, discreet solution for replacing missing teeth. The process of having an implant usually takes between four and nine months but varies depending on your individual treatment plan.
