Welcome
Your warm welcome begins from the moment you get in touch with our friendly team! We’ll talk you through our new patient process, and book your first appointment for a convenient date and time. When you arrive, we may ask you to fill in some forms. We show you our relaxing waiting area and help you feel at ease in our practice.

Discussion
At your appointment time, your dentist will greet you and show you into the surgery. If you are feeling nervous, please tell us so we can tailor your care and help you feel more comfortable. At first, we’ll have an informal chat, getting to know you and your oral health. We’ll ask a little about your brushing routines at home, your general health, and if you have any concerns.

Examination
The main part of your new patient appointment is a thorough examination and assessment of your mouth. This is longer than your subsequent ones will be, as we’ll take time to check everything in detail. We’ll also run an oral cancer screening as standard, and may take some digital x-rays.

Ongoing treatment
Following the examination, we’ll discuss our findings with you and share the details from your x-rays. If you need further treatment, we’ll create your bespoke treatment plan, including the number of appointments needed and costs involved. We’ll also give you some advice and tips for keeping your teeth healthy at home until your next check-up.
